Activities

Seeds of Faith hosts a variety of field trips and other activities throughout the year. For the most up-to-date information please visit our FB Page.

A lot of engaging attractions in MI have special dates when homeschoolers can visit for a discounted price.  Seeds of Faith typically makes an effort to participate in these "homeschool days" but they may not be a formal "field trip."  For more information visit these sites:
Sea Life Michigan
Legoland Discovery Center
The Detroit Zoo also hosts homeschooling days and tickets must be purchased in advance on their website.  For more information contact the Detroit Zoo directly.

We frequently host events just for teens (13 and up).  In order to participate in these events you must have a Teen Permission Slip & Medical Waiver form on file with Seeds of Faith.  If you are a co-op member one of these forms was included in your registration packet.  Teen events are coordinated by Denise Becker.

Mom's Night Out -- Once a month, from September to April, homeschooling mom's get together to do something fun without our kids!  Check our calendar information on the next event.

We also host an annual Christmas Party and Valentine's Party that are open to all homeschooling families. These events are organized by parent volunteers and details can be found on our FB page as the events get closer.

Some of our events, like the Spring Formal, require you to sign up. When this is the case you can sign up via Sign-Up Genius, just visit www.signupgenius.com and click "search", then type in: seedsfaith@gmail.com.  Events that require a sign up via this method will have a link to the sign-up included with the information.

Field Trip Guidelines

The following guidelines will be effective for all Seeds of Faith Homeschool field trips.

1. If field trips require payment, payment will be due at the time of sign-up.

2. Field trip sign-ups will close approximately one week prior to the field trip (or on the date given by the field trip coordinator). Sign-ups will not be allowed after this as we must inform facilities so they are prepared.
3. Seeds of Faith is not responsible for refunds for field trip pre-payments.

4. Field trips are for current homeschooling families. Spaces are limited; spaces are given on a first come, first served basis.

5. There will be no transportation provided through Seeds of Faith.

6. Only those who have signed up and paid (if pre-payment is required) are allowed to attend the field trips. This will prevent an excess of participants for which the facilities will not be prepared.

7. Please be courteous to other Seeds of Faith families and be on time for field trips. Arrival times are listed on our calendar, and we will not wait for latecomers.

8. Please remember that you are representing Seeds of Faith and homeschooling in general at our field trips. Review with your children prior to trips general good behavior: listen, be attentive, follow rules given, ask questions, and be a participant. Dress appropriately.

If you have any questions about a field trip, please contact the person listed as the coordinator for that field trip.
